Our Vision

By planting indigenous forest trees, specific to the eastern mistbelt forest in our area, we aim to restore the forest habitat in which the cabin is situated. This will hopefully encourage the return of endangered bird species, such as the Cape Parrot (South Africa's only endemic parrot). We also hope to inspire other private landowners and individuals to follow suit. By restoring and protecting forests in their areas, we can create corridors for animals and birds to move safely and freely. This could enable the recolonization of fragmented and isolated populations, increasing habitat and genetic variability. Ultimately we aim to promote the upliftment of local communities through conservation. By creating job opportunities and promoting sustainable forest management, we can help ensure a rich and healthy ecosystem for generations to come.
