Cabin:
While sitting patiently in the bird hide, going about your activities around the cabin or even relaxing in the bath tub you may encounter some frequent visitors like the White-starred Robin, Lemon Dove, Forest Canary, Southern Boubou, Willow Warbler, Cape white-eyes, Lesser Honeyguide and a number of Sunbirds as they pass by foraging for food or having a bath in the birdbath close by.
Forest Walks:
The Tchagra Trail & Flufftail Lane forest paths propose the opportunity to stumble across some more inconspicuous species such as the Black Cuckooshrike, Red-chested Cuckoo, Black Cuckoo, Terrestrial Brownbul, Red-capped Robin Chat, Southern Tchagra, Bar-throated Apalis, Yellow-throated Woodland Warbler, Blue-mantled Crested Flycatcher, Olive woodpecker, Green Twinspot or even a shy Buff-spotted Flufftail.
Macadamia Orchards:
While meandering through the macadamia orchards, look out for Red-backed Shrike, Dark-capped Yellow Warbler, Jackal Buzzard, Red-collared Widowbird, Forest Buzzard, African Firefinch, Cape Grassbird and the many Cisticolas.
Valley Hike:
A hike into the valley on the Thula Trail may produce Knysna Turaco, Lanner Falcon, Cape Rock Thrush, Red-fronted Tinkerbird, Striped Pipit, Drakensberg Prinia or even the endangered Southern Ground Hornbill.
Farm Dam:
A visit to the farm dam could see African Black Duck, White-backed Duck, African Jacana, Grey Crowned Crane, Purple Heron, Black-crowned Night Heron, Giant Kingfisher, African Fish Eagle, Black Crake and a few of the Warbler species.
