We’re excited to launch a unique forest restoration initiative that invites you to make a lasting difference by donating a tree. Your contribution helps restore and preserve our precious mistbelt forest - protecting the birds which call it home and nurturing the hope that one day we see the return of the Cape Parrot and other endangered species that once thrived here.
Become part of our story and experience the forest which you helped restore by booking a stay at Thula iNyoni. Here you will see the tangible results of your contribution firsthand while immersing yourself in a truly unique nature experience.

Our Vision
By planting indigenous forest trees, specific to the Eastern Mistbelt Forest, we aim to restore and protect the natural forest habitat surrounding the cabin at Thula iNyoni. This will hopefully encourage the return of endangered bird species, such as the Cape Parrot (South Africa's only endemic parrot). We also hope to inspire other private landowners and individuals to take part in forest restoration on their own land. By working together we can create ecological corridors that allow animals and birds to move safely and freely between habitats. These corridors are vital for the recolonization of fragmented and isolated populations, increasing available habitat and improving genetic variability.
Beyond environmental impact, our vision is rooted in people. Through conservation-driven initiatives, we aim to empower local youth, promote economic upliftment, and support surrounding communities. By encouraging sustainable forest management, we strive to ensure a resilient, healthy ecosystem that can be enjoyed and protected for generations to come.
Community Development
Through the Siyabona Community Development Programme, we support education, sustainable agriculture, and environmental stewardship within the communities around us.
If you'd like to learn more about our initiatives or how you can get involved, we would love to hear from you!
